Great little annexe with own en-suite bathroom just off the St James Way so really great if walking 'the way' and want a convenient place to stay overnight. Very clean and comfy with a fabulous shower and nice self-serve breakfast of cereals, yogurt, toast and croissant. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Tesco extra 0.4miles away for bits and bobs and house in a nice residential area. All in all great little annexe.

Been here before and loved just as much as the first time. For a whole annexe the price is amazing.
The areas lovely, all that you’ll need for a night away. The roof top is great, bed is comfortable.
There was a very small problem with the booking in, but the hosts were great and even popped a bottle of wine into the fridge. Overall me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Many thanks.

The room was quiet, comfortable and had everything needed. There were good facilities at the hotel - dining room, seating area, bar, good parking and was easily accessible. The reception staff were helpful and friendly.
The hotel is situated within easy reach of the M3 and also Basingstoke. And I feel it was reasonably priced

Small town that has a really good shopping centre with a wide choice of the normal and more unusual shops. There are plenty of places to eat, cinema complex, theatre and a good selection of places to park.

A great mixture of old and new: new shopping mall cleverly melded into "old town". Very well looked after and litter-free. Lots of indoor activities especially for children and young families.
Excellent range of properties for folk wanting to settle there (with good access to London).
Lots of road works but probably a passing phase.

We didn’t really explore locally, but rather used it as a base to explore the whole area. It’s just a touch over an hours drive to the south coast, to Bath and to London. We visited Estates with some of the best art collections outside of London, the National Auto Museum, Wisley Garden, rode bikes in the New Forest, played disc golf, visited the Safari Park and much more. There’s a good pub 10 minutes walk away and a huge grocery store about 10 minutes drive away. Perfect!

Basingstoke was a surprise for me...I hadn't expected it to be so full of art & culture. Every available space it seemed to me had been brought to life with a variety of paintings ; poetry ; lighting etc The streets were clean ...plenty of litter bins...hardly any graffiti...people seem to take a pride in their town, which was great to see. I rejoiced to see a market place being used and numerous independent shops as well as a vibrant shopping centre. There are also a number of well maintained green spaces - Eastrop and Glebe Gardens fir example.
I didn't have occasion to use the bus service but did use the railway station and went to Salisbury , Whitchurch and Romsey.
The Ring Rd is a bit of a challenge but at least the roundabouts are named , which is useful! There is easy access to the M3.
I went self catering but found a really nice coffee shop on the way to the station- I think it is called Willow Tea Room ...it is near the statue of the Bluecoat school boy!
It is multi cultural so you are spoilt for choice re eating out. The shopping centre is bright, clean and vibrant.

Very basic hotel that could do with updating.
Very basic hotel that could do with updating. Dirty coffee spoon in bedroom. Dinner only had once, poor quality so eat out in other restaurants, luckily plenty around within 5 mins walk. Internet very poor, could not use I Phones and on laptop very slow so hard to do work in eves.
Staff very nice & friendly
Due to train problems, I ended up needing a last minute stay in Basingstoke. I found this hotel and it was all I needed for one night. Having noone on site is a bit strange at first, but it was clean and had all I needed for a night. I didn't get the key code for the room immediately so phoned the hotel management who were very helpful. It's only a few minutes' walk from the centre of the town and very convenient. If I needed an overnight stay in Basingstoke again, I would definitely go back.
at one time I can imagine this hotel was amazing. It has two swimming pools indoor tennis courts and a spa but it is very tired and could do with some investment. The bed was comfortable, all seemed clean, decor tired, the breaksfast wasn't very nice, the room was very noisy - i started in one and moved to another but didnt make a different all the ventilation heating air con and associated generator noises meant the whole place has a constant loud humm which makes it really hard to sleep.
OMG - What a place!! This B n B is in a great location five minutes from the town centre, next to a great family pub, the best Indian, Chinese next door. Pharmacy, supermarket and cash point right behind. The owner and manager could not do enough for us. The cleanliness and decor was exceptional. The price for this property compared to chain hotels is incredible value for money, cannot recommend enough, you will not be disappointed!! Great work guys, what a gem!!
Great self-contained ground floor house with a couple of double bedrooms. Warm, clean, comfy place to stay in a pleasant, quiet bit of town just five minutes walk from the town centre / railway station. Kitchen really well-equipped, beds comfortable. Bathroom, kitchen and beds all very clean. Television and WiFi all provided and in order. Good Comms before, during and after our stay. If I had a similar requirement in Basingstoke again, I'd definitely stay here.
After having to leave The Hampshire Court hotel due to it's dangerous and filthy condition. I had to find a hotel at very short notice.
Audleys Wood had availability at a higher price than I had paid at the pig pen, but if I had known how beautiful this hotel was and how fantastic the staff where I would be more than happy to have booked there first.
My deepest thanks go to all the staff, from the night Porter to the hotel Manager that saved our weekend away.
There were some snacks left for us for breakfast: cereal, cakes and crisps and also milk and water in fridge as well as coffee and teabags. Also microwave and toaster was provided. We had toiletries and soap. Room was cozy, perfect for short stay and near to town centre. You can check in anytime as there is no need to be server by any personnel, and same with the check out. Also free wifi and tv.
Absolutely blissful stay though it's not in Basingstoke, it's in Dummer and connectivity through bus/public transport is not great so a good option only if one has a car. Martin & his wife were perfectly welcoming, sweet and helpful! Room was in a great condition and washroom was super clean. Lovely guest house situated in the countryside, and great views! 👍🏼
Lovely property! really unique with large bedrooms, nice building with parking right outside and bedrooms at back so quiet in the evening. decorated nicely and everything you need to relax and cook a meal, cheaper than booking 2 hotel rooms and way more space will book again.
Always stay in the Basingstoke Village Hotel & always happy with our experience disappointed this time the electric car charges were out of order.
We travel from the Midlands so Basingstoke is always a good destination for us to charge and stay.
Nice size room. The room was clean. The hotel was pretty quiet at night.it looked like it had a nice pub with games but we did not have a chance to go there. My husband liked the packets of biscuits in the room.
The staff at the Red Lion Hotel where exceptional. They where polite and accommodating.
The room was a nice size with all facilities needed.
The bed was very comfortable.
Will definately be returning.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good location, iron and ironing board supplied in room, comfortable bed, great breakfast, well presented hotel and furnishings in communal and dining areas
Fantastic breakfast (à la carte + buffet), beautiful park - the most beautiful of any hotel we’ve ever been too. Practical family rooms, clean and spacious.
