We arrived at a very disorganized and dysfunctional establishment that was quite difficult to find, even with the mixed-up directions provided. When I tried to clarify some issues with the host, she responded with, "I shouldn’t even be here, it’s my day off." This didn't address any of our concerns. I tried to change to a different room due to the confusing layout and the number of stairs, but was told they were fully booked but after pushing it, i was given a different room. Then for curiosity I checked their website and was able to book three rooms for the same night, so clearly the “we are fully booked” was debatable. The hotel supposedly offers free parking, but we were told it’s on a first-come, first-served basis. Considering the number of rooms, many guests would likely have to struggle for street parking. The bed was okay, but the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. There is a fridge, but it was warmer inside the fridge than the room. There are 12 downlights in the room, with two switches on the wall, one of which does nothing, while the other turns all 12 lights on or off at once so its all or nothing! Additionally, there are no bedside lamps, just a tiny reading lamp with very low wattage. There isn’t even a towel rail in the bathroom. The rooms are noise transparent, noise travels heavily throughout the building so you can hear whats going on in the room above you and hallway noise is very bad. Also for a room for two people, there was only one arm chair and when asked if it was possible to get another one, we were told yes, but we never saw it which is consistent with the disorganization. The rate is advertised as including breakfast but what is provided is a joke. A couple of pastries i. a paper bag, hung on the door overnight lol.

Classic B&B, nice and clean, good breakfast, recommend it if you ever in Cahershiveen. And a friendly host, Mary, a sweet lovely Lady. Thanks.

The room was spacious and clean and the bed was so comfortable, the owners of the B&B were very welcoming and accommodating. Delicious breakfast. I would definitely recommend it .

We had nice beds and a nice shower. Place was quiet and we could rest. The bad start with the owner kind of ruined our stay.

Good location for visiting Valentia Island and Cahersiveen. Well appointed little apartment which met our needs for our short stay

Location was great, the house was spotless with way more that we ever needed- Jeffrey was very patient with us trying yo work out the induction cooker😉. But seriously speaking the house offers comfort from home...

Comfortable and with good heating that dries out wet walking gear quickly.

Royal Valentia is a joy to stay in, amazing location, cheery welcoming staff, such a comfy bed, great shower, tasty breakfast - especially the brown bread, and the scrambled eggs, relaxing vibe, and all this in a lovingly restored historic hotel.
